Saves your edits as a new copy. It keeps the same file name and type as the save you loaded (.srm or .sav) unless you change it below.
Putting it in your game
- Close the game in your emulator, so it does not write over the file.
- Keep your original save somewhere safe as a backup.
- Replace the old save with the downloaded one, keeping the same name and folder, then start the game.
Good to know
- Checksums are recalculated for you, so the game accepts the file.
- Do not load an old save state afterwards. It brings back the party from before your edits.
- Stats you changed show their new values in game after the next heal or level-up.
- The file is built on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
- Moving to a newer game version (for example 2.65.4.1b → 2.65.4.11b)? Both use the same save format. Emulators load the save whose name matches the new ROM's name, so rename the save to that name and keep its .srm or .sav ending (e.g. Pokemon_Elite_Redux_2.65.4.11b.srm or Pokemon_Elite_Redux_2.65.4.11b.sav, whichever your emulator uses). You can do it right here: type the new name in Save file name, press Enter, then download. A name with the version in it also helps this editor suggest the right version next time.
